What? I haven't posted for nearly a month!

Wow, time is just going by way too fast. I have been preparing for my knee replacement which is fast approaching. Friday Feb 14th. I have Gertie taken care of for as long as needed; which is nice. I decided (after going to a prep class) that going to a transitional care facility would make more sense in terms of physical therapy. And one of the facilities that my surgeon recommends to his patients (he only recommends 2) is in Tier 1 of my insurance coverage.  So that is a good thing.

My knee is barely hanging in because we are having such crappy weather - for pretty much the whole month. I suppose that is why I haven't blogged much. Chronic pain = crappy sleep = equals crabby! Equals my bipolar symptoms are increasing.

I had an appt with Lisa(therapist) and it went well. I told her that I would give her a call after surgery to let her know how it went. I also let her know that I haven't made an appt for after surgery since I didn't know how it was going to go. She said no worries - if you need to get in, I will fit you in. Just leave me a voice mail. She is so good to me. I will be off work for 8 weeks. It will be good to get turned around to a day person. It will help with my symptoms. I can post out after a year which will be April 29. I like what I am doing but the nights are really taking a toll - more than I was anticipating. However, my foot is in the door!

While I am off I am going to fill time with Guild. I also have church people and people that I used to work with at the bank offering to come hang out, go to lunch when I can get out, etc. During the week.

Ohhh, and I talked about Russ the Handyman with Lisa. Because I am finally - well actually have decided that I put more into the friendship than he does and it just isn't worth it. He bought his own place, less than a mile from me. I asked him to take Gertie for just 3 days while I was in the hospital. Originally my girlfriend was going to come stay with me so I thought I could get Gertie right away. He said he can't. No explanation. So my ex step brother in law is taking her. In the end, everything is working out for the better. My ex step brother offered to take her as long as I needed - a week or more if needed (not sure how long I will be in Transitional Care) and after taking the prep class- it just makes more sense to go to Transitional Care.

There have been lots of other things that I don't want to go into. I just have had lots of practice at unhealthy relationships with men and learning to let go of them is a big accomplishment for me. Both Lisa and myself agreed that it does make sense.

On a fun note - my Christmas present to my mom was to take her to a concert at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater - it only seats around 200 if that and my friend Moe - it was her show. She sang songs from Women of Country - but country from 60s, 70s, 80. Some Linda Ronstadt. Ended with Janis (though that is more bluesie but I was so happy) - and some June Carter Cash - Patsy Cline (I love Patsy).  It was a great time.

My church is a small community which is nice. Once a month (other than summer) we have a card club - actually more of a game night. I offered to host it on February 8th. Since my condo is small I am renting the party room. They are fun times. It will be my first time hosting.

Well - that is about it peeps. Just trying to get through this frigid winter we are having!
